R404A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant blend commonly used in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. It is known for its high cooling capacity and is often used in low and medium temperature refrigeration applications, such as supermarket freezers and refrigerated transport. However, it has a relatively high global warming potential (GWP), and as a result, there has been a push to find more environmentally friendly alternatives.
